Obesity rate has increased around the world and it is a global epidemic. Obesity is a major risk factor for diabetes, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases. Obesity rate among Singapore adolescents (primary six and equivalent age group) has increased since 1997. The reason for this increase may be due to sedentary lifestyle as a result of the rapid technological advancement and increasing use of electronic equipments such as computers.
