Paediatricians are often asked to give advice on the safety and efficacy of strength training programs for children and adolescents. While the benefits of strength training for youths are already well-established, the public are still generally clouded and confused with training myths such as resistance training would result in stunted growth. It is the aim of this presentation to provide the most current information on the risks and benefits of strength training for youths. Demonstration of body-weight exercises and thera-band training would be shown as well.
